Job Overview:
The Make Ready Specialist is responsible for preparing vacant
apartments to meet market-ready conditions. This role involves
performing various non-technical maintenance tasks, such as
painting, drywall repair, caulking, and ensuring apartments are
move-in ready. The Make Ready Specialist also supports the overall
appearance and maintenance of the property.
Key Responsibilities: Maintenance Operations:
- Prepare vacant apartments for market-ready conditions in
compliance with Steward + Helm's standards.
- Perform non-technical maintenance tasks including exterior
lighting maintenance, ground equipment repair, preventative
maintenance, caulking, touch-up painting, pool maintenance, and
lock repairs.
- Maintain and clean grounds to ensure the property presentation
aligns with company standards.
- Respond promptly to resident requests and escalate issues to
the supervisor as needed.
- Follow company procedures regarding the use of tools and
equipment.
- Complete all required logs, paperwork, and checklists related
to inventory tracking and hazardous chemicals.
- Adhere to safety regulations and maintain a safe work
environment.
- Maintain property curb appeal by regularly picking up grounds
and ensuring clean, well-kept exteriors.The job description is not

- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in maintenance
or a related field.
- Skills: Strong technical abilities across maintenance trades
and a customer-first mindset. Commitment to promoting safety and
adhering to established safety protocols.
- Availability: Must be flexible to work weekends, events, and
on-call shifts.Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift/move up to 25 lbs.
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, and use tools regularly.
- Comfortable working in a moderately noisy environment.
