Job Summary and Qualifications The cardiovascular technician who assists with invasive cardiac and peripheral procedures as to adherence to aseptic and sterile technique. Functions with established philosophy, providing and assisting with patient care for pediatric and adult congenital heart patients. Provides clinical training for entry-level technicians and assists in their development.What will you do in this role:In this role, the technician will assist in care to pediatric and adult congenital patient populations. Responsibilities include monitoring physiologic and hemodynamic data for diagnostic, interventional cath, and electrophysiological procedures. Acting as a scrub technician for interventional and electrophysiology procedures. Monitoring and recording patient's condition continuously during a procedure on MacLab/CardioLab system; assisting with maintenance of equipment and supply inventory; obtaining supplies for individual cases, and ensuring all appropriate needs of the Cath Lab team are met. Must have a working knowledge of the Cardiac Cath Lab, monitoring equipment, and experience in assisting various types of interventional procedures.What qualifications you will need:
  • Allied Health degree or three years of either Cath Lab experience in a pediatric (preferred) or adult setting in the Cath Lab
  • Certification as RCES, RCIS, or ARRT or three years of Cath Lab experience
  • Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS provider
  • American Heart Association or American Red Cross PALS provider required within six months of hire or transfer
