Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Perinatal Nurse to join our
team at CHRISTUS Health. As a Perinatal Nurse, you will provide
high-quality patient care in the Labor and Delivery Department,
utilizing your expertise in nursing practices and protocols to
ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.Key
Responsibilities
- Provide routine and complex care to patients in the Labor and
Delivery Department, demonstrating an awareness of all relevant
aspects of the situation.
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care, utilizing
evidence-based practice and critical thinking skills to assess
patient needs and develop effective solutions.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless
communication and coordination of care, promoting a safe and
efficient patient flow.
- Administer medications and treatments, monitoring for side
effects and effectiveness, and documenting patient history,
symptoms, and care provided.
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family
members, and caregivers, identifying issues and resources to
support patient empowerment.Requirements
- 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty
preferred.
- Perinatal RN Residency or recently practicing in a Perinatal
Setting is preferred.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred.
- BLS required.
- RN License in state of employment or compact.
- Current certification from NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring
(C-EFM) or one of the following AWHONN courses: Intermediate FHM,
Intermediate FHM Instructor, Advanced FHM Instructor, or Instructor
Trainer at time of hire or prior to the end of orientation for
experienced nurses; within 90 days of hire for new graduates and
experienced nurses new to the specialty then required to maintain
course certification thereafter.
- Current ACLS certification within 30 days of hire for
experienced nurses; within 90 days of hire for new graduates then
required to maintain certification thereafter.
- Current NRP certification at time of hire for experienced
nurses; within 60 days for new graduates and experienced nurses new
to the specialty then required to maintain certification
thereafter.Work Schedule and Type7PM - 7AM, Part Time
