POSITION SUMMARY The Senior Director of HR evaluates, develops, plans, directs,
organizes and leads the company’s HR function. This position must
be able to lead at a strategic level and define a vision, but also
be able to implement and execute (to do!) in order to reliably
deliver results. The Senior Director of HR will create and
implement appropriate process and procedure to move AH toward our
vision of the ideal HR function. The position will report directly to a member of Executive
Management (the OFP), and will participate on the company’s Senior
Leadership Team. All other HR positions will report to the Senior Director of
HR. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Material responsibilities and essential duties which must be
completed in achieving the objectives of the position: • Ensures alignment of HR policies, procedures and processes
with organizational goals and values • Develops a respected and high performance Human Resources
department • Creates, communicates and maintains the HR vision for the
company • Develops/maintains an employee-oriented atmosphere emphasizing
quality, continuous improvement, and high performance in alignment
with organization goals • Collaborates with Executive Management to analyze and
recommend compensation plans that support organizational
goals/objectives and attract and retain talent • Routinely analyzes benefits program for cost-effectiveness,
market competitiveness, and internal equity among employees.
Revises program as needed. • Initiates and maintains a succession plan for all
departments. • Evaluates potential issues, service needs or policy or process
improvements and proactively develops remedial strategy/response to
reduce organizational liability. • Determines HR best practices to support organizational
direction. • Works with executive and senior leadership to champion the
mission, vision and strategy of the organization • Serves as the influential voice for HR strategy and
initiatives within the organization • Serves as a change leader and as a role model for the company
culture/core values • Day to day management of the HR function/activities utilizing
best practices • Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment
legislation and insures company compliance. • Directs organization safety initiatives-ensures that emergency
evacuation plans are current and communicated to all employees • Promotes an employee-oriented company culture that emphasizes
quality, continuous improvement, and high performance. • Establish credibility throughout the organization with
management and employees by being an effective listener and problem
solver of people issues. Be able to respond effectively to
sensitive inquires or complaints. • Continual personal professional development. MEASUREMENT OF SUCCESS • Improvement in defined KPIs for the HR area o Improved “time to hire” results o Performance reviews completed timely o Personnel files complete o Manager Development Training Program in place o Review and update of all existing company policies and
procedures • Identify and implement opportunities for Profit
Improvements QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to
perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed
below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability
required. EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE/REQUIRED PROFICIENCIES • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent
experience • 10+ years of progressive Human Resources experience with 5
most recent years in a senior management position. • PHR or SPHR required • Professional services industry experience preferred. • Strong working knowledge of principles and practices of human
resource management. • Thorough knowledge and application of state and federal labor
laws and regulations. • Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to collaborate,
influence, negotiate, and coach managers and employees in a team
environment. • Solutions driven problem solver • Promotes a culture of superior customer service • Proficient with effectively leading, documenting, and closing
investigations. • Proven experience in building and expanding the Human
Resources function in a rapidly growing organization • Ability to solve challenging problems and provide effective
